Blackberry Spiders

  • 2 large blackberries
  • 1 black licorice wheel

Directions

Cut limes in half. Squeeze 3 halves to equal 1 ounce of juice and transfer to cocktail shaker. Set aside. Cut remaining half into wedges and rub along rims of 2 8-ounce glasses. Place salt blend on small plate. Dip rim of each glass in salt mix to coat. Fill each glass with ice and set aside.

Add blackberry syrup and jalapeno slices to cocktail shaker with lime juice and muddle with a wooden spoon for about 15 seconds. Add tequila and ice to shaker, cover and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.

Strain into prepared glasses and garnish with additional jalapeno slices and Blackberry Spiders, if desired.

Blackberry Spiders:

Place blackberries in freezer for 5 minutes. Unroll black licorice wheel and cut 2 each 2 ½ inch lengths. Using a sharp paring knife, cut each piece along seam to separate into 4 total 2 ½ inch pieces. Using a toothpick or thin bamboo skewer, puncture blackberries all the way through, from side to side and the top and bottom-third of each berry and thread a length of licorice into each hole to make a spider-like garnish.
