In a large bowl, whisk together the first 6 ingredients. Transfer batter to a shallow baking dish.
Heat 1 tbsp of the butter in a large nonstick skillet medium high heat. Dip panettone slices in batter, coating each side and letting the excess drip off. Place in pan and cook, flipping once, until golden brown, 2 minutes per side. Transfer French toast to a platter and repeat with remaining slices. Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup and a dusting of confectioners sugar.

It tasted great and simple to do!
Had this Christmas morning with the pandorro(no candied fruit.) My wife said it was the best French toast she ever had. I went lighter with almond milk instead of eggnog.
Delicious!
Been making this for yrs. Don't need the extra sugar, and leave it out.
Love this recipe. I would rather make a Fresh Market panettone bread pudding and serve it warm with a rum flavored hard sauce.
Awesome recipe Love it
Panettone has been my childhood favorite but never thought of using it for Trench toast. Thank you so much for your recipe, it’s delicious!
Great receipt for French toast! Delicious !
Simply amazing! So easy to assemble and a big hit with the family. Great holiday idea! Thank you Fresh Market!.
Very good
Yum, great recipe! I love quick, easy recipes and this one fits the bill.
Great breakfast. I used the chocolate chip Pannetone bread instead of the traditional. Easy. Highly recommend.
I've been making, freezing and giving as Christmas presents for yrs! EVERYONE loves it. I include a recipe card with reheating instructions & serving suggestions. The toast is delicious with fresh squeezed orange juice and powdered sugar sprinkled on top. A side of maple chicken sausage or bacon finishes it off. You can also top it with a blueberry compote, a streusel topping & pop in the oven for a delicious, refreshing twist! Yummy..
Delicious!
Gave it a go Christmas morning. It was okay, but difficult to get a consistent cook all the way through on each of the pieces as they are rather large and thick. Recipe itself was good. Probably would not try again.
I like it
