Preheat the oven to 400F.
Mix the beef, cheddar, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl by hand. Add kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Heat a small sauté pan and cook off a small piece of the meat mixture and taste for seasoning; adjust as necessary.
Spread the French rounds onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or tinfoil. Using a small pallet knife, spatula or butter knife, spread a thin (¼-½ inch) layer of the meat mixture onto each French round, covering the top of the rounds completely.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until meat is cooked through (internal temperature should be 165). Remove from oven and top each French round with a half pickle slice. Serve immediately.
Makes approx. 48 French rounds

Like all the best appetizers, simple is best. We did make one change with this one--Wickles chips instead of dill pickles. I know not everyone wants a sweet pickle jolt, but trust me! The spicy little bite is perfect!
What an easy and delicious appetizer!
