Preheat oven to 300*. In a small pot over medium heat, brown butter. Add brown sugar, honey, and cardamom and stir until the brown sugar is completely dissolved, 2-3 minutes. Reduce heat to low and stir in whiskey. Bring to a simmer. Turn off heat and cool to room temperature. Pour over ham in an oven proof dish and cook for 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes. Raise the oven temperature to 400* the final 15 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
