Preheat oven to 375°F.
In a large Dutch oven or oven-safe skillet, melt 3 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add apples, cinnamon and sugar and stir. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently, until apples begin to soften.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine butter, parsley, rosemary, thyme, sage, salt and pepper. Gently separate skin from chicken and spread butter mixture under skin. Place chicken on top of apples, cover and bake for 45 minutes. Remove cover and continue baking for 30 minutes until skin is nicely brown and an internal temperature of 165°F is reached. Serve chicken alongside cinnamon apples.
*If you do not have a Dutch oven or oven-safe skillet, transfer apples and chicken to a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Great, 4th time everyone loves it and it smells so great in the house. Thank you
Great dish, very unique, I use chicken legs because we like dark meat and it is so good. Thank you
I love chicken and apples together, It's a.nice change. The Fresh Market is where We like to shop.
Cooking the apples like suggested resulted in applesauce 20 minutes into cooking. If doing this again I would probably sear the apples, coat in cinnamon and sugar, sear the chicken, incorporate the spices and bake in the oven together. Having said that, this was the best applesauce I have had (reminded me of Grandma’s).
Excellent ! Made for my daughter for her birthday and also for company with rave reviews ! Everyone asked for the recipe ! The chicken was very moist and there was zero leftovers ! Bravo to you Fresh Market, my favorite place to shop ! ❤️❤️
