Heat olive oil in large pan over high heat. Add bacon. Cook for 7-10 minutes, until it starts to crisp.
Add onions, peppers and garlic, simmer for 7-8 minutes, until onion is translucent and peppers are soft. Transfer bacon and onion/peppers mixture to stock pot with remaining ingredients.
Cook over medium heat (or indirect heat if cooking on a grill) for 20 - 30 minutes until bubbling.

Omitted the hot peppers, everyone loved it.
Too much sugar. Otherwise, pretty much a standard camp bean recipe if you were to cut back on the sugar, eliminate the hoaked up high fructose corn syrup bottled bbq sauce and use a can of tomatoes or enchilada sauce instead.
Thought I haven't actually tried it yet the recipe itself had my mouth watering. After going through the list of what is needed for this delectable dish, I realized how easy it is to shop for these ingredients just because there are no "weird", "out of this world" ingredient you won't be able to find.
